Laying down more tracks - Shiding
by Craig on May.22, 2011,under Taiwan, Leisure, Biking, Technology
After 2 weeks of rain, it finally stopped and I was able to get out and do some more cycling this weekend.
I was especially excited to try a route I'd never tried before and use My Tracks to record it. On Friday, I rode down the river trail from my home to Bitan, where I got on Route 9 toward Pinglin. At the top of the mountain, there is a turn-off to go to Central Shiding on Route 47. This is the part I'd never been to before. I rode down Route 47, through Central Shiding, where it connected to Route 106 back to Xindian. Here is the map:

I rode this route by myself on Friday, with Josh on Saturday, then in the reverse direction by myself on Sunday. The scenery on Route 47 is the best, so I prefer taking the route clockwise, which means riding uphill on Route 47 slowly, then down hill on Route 9 quickly.
Having GPS and My Tracks really motivates me to ride more, and lay down as many tracks as I can.
