Building a web site

Well, I finally have the basic web site for Craig's English back online.
When the previous version was hacked and had to be taken down, I gave some serious thought as to whether or not I should rebuild it. Why bother? What purpose did it serve? Who ever went there? Was it worth the cost and effort? Finally, I decided there were several reasons why I should rebuild and maintain the web site.
...
First, it gives me a creative outlet for my inner-geek. I've never had any formal computer training, but I'm very interested in technology, gadgets and the Internet. Building a web site with a variety of components gives me a chance to learn and experiment with new technologies, creating something that will hopefully be interesting or useful to someone out there.
Second, having a presence on the Internet is useful for my English teaching efforts. It helps me to market my language training services by highlighting my professional background as well as my language learning and teaching experiences. The web site also provides additional ways for me to communicate with my clients. I'm especially hopeful that making my appointment calendar available will facilitate client scheduling.
Finally, it is a way for me to share with my friends, colleagues and students, both past and present. The web site will have information useful to clients and students, the blog will allow me to express thoughts and experiences of living and working in Taiwan and the photo album will allow me to share fond memories.
Be sure to visit the main web site as well as the blog, and please share with me your comments and suggestions to make both more interesting and useful.
